The goal of the Interreg Nord project AIDA (Arctic Indigenous Design Archives) is to strengthen the Sami cultural heritage and to improve the entrepreneurship skills of students who study duodji.
The project creates individual duojár archives for Sami craftsmen, artists and designers and the focus is not on the artefact but on other archive materials. By preserving, for example, sketches, working samples, photos, correspondence and marketing materials, the focus moves from the artefact to the craftsman’s creative processes.
